When and Where?
You will work mostly outdoors, full-time, Monday to Friday, at our Farm in Brackendale, BC. Flexibility to work weekends when necessary is required.
Role Requirements
Physical Fitness: The role involves a fair amount of physical labour, so you need to be fit and healthy.
Animal Lover: You'll be interacting with livestock and working dogs, so a love for animals is a must.
Excellent Communication Skills: You'll be dealing with customers, so it's important that you can communicate effectively.
Responsibility and Dependability: We need someone who can take on responsibility, show up when needed, and is open to working weekend shifts.
Willingness to Learn: Farm chores vary, and you'll need to be open to learning new tasks and working different shifts.
Product & Sustainability Knowledge: Familiarity with sustainable farming and our grass-fed products is crucial. You should be able to convey our commitment to quality and sustainability to customers.

We are Hop Creek Farms, a family-owned farm located in beautiful Brackendale. We grow a wide variety of vegetables and flowers for market, as well as to support our food and bar trailer offerings. Whether our customers enjoy our produce from market purchases or served from our on-site food trailer, we strive for healthy quality offerings.
We are seeking a motivated, experienced Market Gardner Coordinator to help organize and expand our Market Garden production. This position plays a key role in production organization and field maintenance on our farm.
We are not certified organic, but our growing practices align closely with organic standards. We use organic seeds whenever possible, focus on soil health and biodiversity, and avoid synthetic pesticides and fertilizers. We aim to grow responsibly, thoughtfully, and in a way that supports both the land and our local community.
Who are you?
Someone who will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the market garden of our farm – seed propagation, field prep, weeding, harvesting and market prep. This position works closely with the Operations Manager and the Farm Manager and may supervise other market garden staff during the season.
You are driven, organized, independent and comfortable taking initiative in a fast-paced seasonal environment. You are looking to deepen your experience in diversified farming, with opportunities to contribute ideas, refine systems, and grow with the farm.

Role Requirements
2+ seasons of experience on a diversified vegetable farm. Preference will be given to those with leadership experience.
- Ability to work weekends may be required.
- Strong work ethic.
- Physical ability to perform repetitive farm labour in all weather conditions. (must be able to lift 40 lbs.)
- Proven familiarity with growing standards that align with organic practices, specifically soil health, biodiversity, and non-synthetic pest management.
- Proficiency with small-scale farm tools (e.g., broad forks, flame weeders, or walk-behind tractors) and basic irrigation systems.
- Valid B. C. Driver’s license.
Job Description:
The Market Garden Coordinator will oversee the full lifecycle of our produce, ensuring our market and food trailer are stocked with high-quality, responsibly grown items.
- Production & Crop Planning: Manage seed propagation, greenhouse starts, and successive planting schedules to ensure a steady harvest throughout the season.
- Field Operations: Lead all aspects of field preparation, including soil health management, transplanting, and maintaining our "closely aligned" organic standards.
- Maintenance: Execute rigorous weeding, irrigation management, and pest/disease monitoring using non-synthetic methods.
- Harvest & Post-Harvest: Coordinate efficient harvesting, washing, and packing of vegetables and flowers for market and on-site culinary use.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor seasonal staff or volunteers, fostering a culture of efficiency and quality.
- Collaboration: Work directly with the Operations and Farm Manager to refine systems and contribute to the long-term expansion of the garden.

Compensation:
- $24/hr to start with a performance-based wage review after 6 months.
- Medical and dental plan after 90 days.
