Farm Market Retail & Farm Hand Position

Join our dynamic team at Hop Creek Farms! We're seeking a new member to split their time between our Farm Market Retail and Farm Hand positions. This is an opportunity to work amidst nature, engage with livestock, and become part of our farm family.

We are Hop Creek Farms, a local farm nestled in Brackendale, BC. We raise 100% grass-fed and grass-finished beef and lamb, as well as pastured pork and chicken that eat organic, non-medicated feed. As a family, we are passionate about where our food comes from and ensuring our animals are raised humanely. Who are you?

As someone interested in working on a farm, you have a genuine love for the outdoors; you don’t shy away from a little dirt, and you have a knack for organization.

But there’s more to you. You realize the importance of being our customers' first point of contact. You’re not just a team member - you’re the ambassador of our brand.

Your communication skills are top-notch. You can easily explain the benefits of our meats, guide customers on how to cook different cuts, and if they need extra help, you’re always ready to direct them to useful resources like recipes or websites.

When and Where?

We're seeking to fill this role from July 1st to October 1st, with the possibility of extending the role for longer if we find the right person. You will work part-time, 3 to 4 days a week, on weekends and weekdays, mostly outdoors, at our Farm in Brackendale, BC.

Role Requirements

Physical Fitness: The role involves a fair amount of physical labour, so you need to be fit and healthy.
Animal Lover
: You'll be interacting with livestock and working dogs, so a love for animals is a must.
Excellent Communication Skills
: You'll be dealing with customers, so it's important that you can communicate effectively.
Responsibility and Dependability
: We need someone who can take on responsibility, show up when needed, and is open to working weekend shifts.
Willingness to Learn
: Farm chores vary, and you'll need to be open to learning new tasks and working different shifts.
Product & Sustainability Knowledge: Familiarity with sustainable farming and our grass-fed products is crucial. You should be able to convey our commitment to quality and sustainability to customers.
