Ingredients
- (1 1/2 lbs) Beef Ground
- (1/4 cup) Avocado oil
- (2 cloves) Garlic (minced)
- (1/2 cup) Soy Sauce (can substitute tamari or liquid aminos)
- (1/4 cup) Sesame oil
- (4 tsp) Apple cider vinegar
- (12 oz) Broccoli florets
- (dash) Onion powder
Directions
Cook the Ground Beef:
Let’s start by heating up some avocado oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. You want the oil to get nice and hot, so it’s ready for the beef. Once the oil is shimmering, add the ground beef to the skillet. As it cooks, use a spatula or wooden spoon to break the beef into small chunks. This helps it cook evenly and gives it that nice browned texture. Stir it occasionally, and watch it until it’s browned and slightly crispy. This should take just a few minutes. Once the beef looks good, sprinkle onion powder and garlic. Give it a good stir for about 30 seconds to let those flavours mingle and fill your kitchen with a delicious aroma.
Add Liquid Flavour:
Now it’s time to amp up the flavour! Pour in the soy sauce, sesame oil, and vinegar. These ingredients will really bring the dish to life. Stir everything together, ensuring the beef is coated in that tasty sauce. You’ll notice how the beef starts to soak up all those wonderful flavours.
Steam Broccoli:
Next, let’s add some colour and nutrition to our dish with broccoli. Toss the broccoli florets into the skillet, spreading them out evenly. Cover the skillet with a lid and let the broccoli steam over medium heat. This should take about 3 to 5 minutes. You’ll want to check on it occasionally; you’re looking for the broccoli to become fork-tender but still bright green. Once it’s done, you’ll have a delicious and colourful mix of beef and broccoli that’s ready to serve.
Enjoy your meal!
Notes
This recipe comes together in under 15 minutes, so you don’t need to worry about prepping ingredients in advance—unless you’d like to chop the broccoli into florets ahead of time. If you have any leftover stir-fry, just place it in an airtight container and pop it in the fridge. It will keep well for about 3 to 5 days, making it a convenient choice for quick weekly meals!
