Ingredients
- (2 lbs) Lamb Ground
- (2 cloves) Garlic (finely minced)
- (2 tbsp) Fresh Cilantro or Parsley (chopped)
- (1 tbsp) Coriander (ground)
- (1 tbsp) Cumin (ground)
- (1 tsp) Paprika
- (3/4 tsp) Salt
- (1/2 tsp) Cinnamon (ground)
- (1/2 tsp) Black Pepper
Directions
Prepare the Skewers: If you are using bamboo skewers, start by soaking them in water for at least 1 hour. This will help prevent the skewers from burning during cooking.
Mix the Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine all of your ingredients. Use your hands to mix everything together thoroughly until well combined. This ensures that the flavours are evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
Shape the Kofta: Once the mixture is well combined, take portions of it and form them into oval-shaped logs. Each log should be about 1 inch wide and 4 inches long. If you are using skewers, carefully thread the logs onto the soaked skewers, making sure they are securely attached.
Air Fry the Kofta: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F. Place the skewers in the air fryer basket, making sure they are not overcrowded. Cook the kofta for 10 to 12 minutes or until they are nicely browned and the internal temperature reaches at least 135°F for medium doneness.
Rest Before Serving: Once cooked, remove the kofta from the air fryer and let them rest for about 5 minutes. This allows the juices to be redistributed, ensuring a more flavourful and tender result.
Alternative Cooking Methods: If you prefer, you can also grill the kofta over medium heat. Turn them occasionally to ensure they brown evenly on all sides. Alternatively, you can bake the kofta in an oven preheated to 375°F until cooked through.
Serve: After resting, serve the kofta warm with your choice of sides, such as rice, salad, or pita bread. Enjoy your delicious homemade kofta!
Notes
The kofta can be prepared in various ways—feel free to grill, bake, or pan-fry them based on your preference and available equipment.
For a complete meal, consider serving your kofta with a refreshing side of tzatziki sauce or a vibrant salad, which pairs beautifully with the dish's flavours.
Adjust the spices to match your taste preferences. Whether you prefer a milder flavour or a spicier kick, customizing the seasoning will make this dish your own. Enjoy your cooking experience!
